POLICE INTERFERE WITH PROFESSIONAL WORK OF JOURNALISTS |

 Yesterday, 8 July, Sabail District Police Department Employees used pressure against journalists and interfered with their journalistic activity. Journalists came to the Sabail District Police Department to obtain information about beating of ANTV Online TV Leader Emin Milli and one of “OL” Youth Organization Coordinators, well-known videoblogger Adnan Hajizade, who take an active part in political activities. The journalists were distanced from the Sabail DPD by policemen forcefully and were not able to receive any information about the incident. Emin Milli and Adnan Hajizade were eating out in Livan restaurant in Baku when two people who were seating at the next table and listening to them and who looked like sportsmen attacked and injured them.
Sabail DPD detained Adnan Hajizade as a suspected person for 48 hours. Emin Milli decided to show solidarity with Hajizade and asked the police to take him also to detention center. On May 18th at 3:00pm, the Baku Grave Crimes Court will hold a hearing on the case of Khural newspaper editor-in-chief Avaz Zeynalli, who was arrested following the lawsuit of MP Gular Ahmadova. Judge Ramella Allahverdiyeva will preside over the hearing. |
