PRESSURE AGAINST DEPUTY STRENGTHENS AFTER HIS INTERVIEW TO PRESS Print E-mail
10.08.2009 16:52
Harassment against Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Supreme Assembly member, Jahri village Municipality Chairperson Zahid Ismayılov after his interview to press regarding problems associated with irrigating cultivation fields and socio-economic issues continues.
Nakhchivan Regional Correspondents were told this by Zahid Ismayılov.
On 7 august, during 7:00 p.m. news program on Nakhchivan TV (NTV), report issued by Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Internal Affairs Ministry’s Public Security Department in connection with Ismayilov was read.  Z .Ismayılov was introduced as a gambler in the news. According to the report, Z.Ismayilov uses his stable as an eatery and involves citizens in gambling.
During his interview to IRFS Nakhchivan regional correspondents, Zahid Ismayilov said that the report disseminated by Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Internal Affairs Ministry’s Public Security Department do not conform to reality.
“The Head of Babek Region Executive Administration is behind this game,” said Ismayilov. “They never caught me gambling. Nobody asked me anything about this, and I never made a statement in connection with it. Two employees of the police post patrol service and village executive representative sit in the building of the municipality all the time. Where were they looking at if we gambled? It sounds like they also gambled with me.”
Z.Ismayılov added that he faced harassment after his interview to press regarding socio-economic problems.
Recently Z.Ismayilov his authorities as the chairperson of the municipality were removed and he was not able to solve any problems associated with the village. Therefore he returned his certificate, stamp and seal along with his deputy mandate to Babek region Executive Administration Head as objection.
