“YENI MUSAVAT” NEWSPAPER SUES ANS TV CHANNEL |

 “Yeni Musavat” newspaper has sued ANS TV channel. “Yeni Musavat” newspaper lawyer Vagif Huseyn told the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety that the newspaper filed a civil lawsuit against the TV channel in the Sabail District Court. According to the lawyer, the lawsuit stems from offensive language used against the newspaper on anspress.com website.
“Several days ago the newspaper was insulted in information disseminated by ANS because of an article published in “Yeni Musavat” newspaper stating that ANS TV channel advertises vodka,” said V.Huseyn. “The newspaper conducted an investigation and found out that the vodka has been advertised in a different channel, in fact. Therefore an apology article was published in yesterday’s edition of the newspaper. However, we appealed to court because of insulting expressions that are damaging to our business image and demanded that ANS be fined 100 000 AZN (hundred thousand).”
V.Huseyn emphasized that the preliminary hearing on this case will take place on 23 September at 2:00 p.m.
